Flights depend entirely on wind: mornings are more reliable than afternoons, and operators will simply not fly in gusty conditions, so treat it as a flexible slot rather than a fixed booking. What to skip

The big group schooners to Campeche or around the bay pack 60 to 80 passengers onto a boat with one bathroom and a sound system playing the same forró set on loop — the private charter above costs more per person but delivers an entirely different day. Beto Carrero World, the theme park up near Penha, is a three-hour round trip from Florianópolis and eats a full day you don’t have on a three-day itinerary; it deserves its own separate trip, not a slot squeezed into this one.

Avoid driving into the Centro Histórico or along the Lagoa waterfront during the Festa das Rendeiras in August or over the New Year’s Eve week, when roads close for stages and fireworks and parking near anything worth eating disappears entirely.
